Second Bi-ennial Housekeeper awards night a great success

On Wednesday evening July 16th 2008 , the second Bi-ennial Housekeeping awards of The P.E.H.N.(Vic ) were held at the William Angliss Institute in Melbourne.

More than twenty of the Associate members sponsored the event by “renting a trestle “for the evening to promote their products and services.

The Trophy for Excellence award sponsored by Melbourne Airport was won by Lorraine Oates , Executive Housekeeper of The Victoria Hotel.

The “Rising Star” category sponsored by Lombards the Paper People was won by Jennifer Trimboli of the Alto on Bourke and The “Most Respected Peer” award sponsored by Blackwoods was won by Marian Stratford of Crown Ltd.

The three award winners were presented with trophies , certificates of recognition and cheques from the various sponsors for $500 each

Barbara Sargeant who is the Project Manager and founding Secretary of The P.E.H.N. was presented with a special award ” for outstanding commitment to the development and professionalism of the Housekeeping industry.”

Barbara received an engraved crystal vase.

The evening was also a launch for the new and updated website and the offering of membership to all interested Housekeeping line staff for an annual membership fee of $25.

There were approximately 110 people in attendance and attendees were serenaded by the European Cafe Concert . All in attendance received a PEHN promotional bag on leaving.

The next P.E.H.N. Housekeeping awards will be in 2010.
